"Caribbean Spirit" is located at the TMM (Tortola
Marine Management) charter base which is at Road Reef Marina in Roadtown, Tortola... British Virgin Islands.
The
two major airports that you consider when heading to the BVI are Beef Island (EIS) BVI and St. Thomas (STT) in the US Virgin
Islands. If you fly to Beef Island don't be concerned about the name. Beef Island is connected to Tortola by a bridge. If
you fly to St. Thomas USVI, you can take a ferry to Tortola.
Flying to the islands can be relatively expensive. Prices
fluctuate and can differ significantly from season to season. If you participate in a frequent flyer program, the BVI is a
good destination to redeem your miles on. Obviously booking early is the key to getting the best frequent flyer deals. American
Airlines is one of the major carriers to the Caribbean They have several flights daily to Tortola. There are also other major
airlines that can get you there.
When flying to Beef Island you will usually get routed through San Juan, Puerto
Rico. Some people may save money by booking separate flights from the US to San Juan, then from San Juan to Beef Island, as
opposed to booking straight through on one ticket. Beware that if you get delayed in (or getting to) San Juan and miss your
connection, the airlines will not reimburse you for hotel stayovers unless you have booked the entire journey straight through
on one ticketing. The "two ticket" option is a good way to include a stopover in Puerto Rico before (or after) your sailing
vacation.

When comparing prices and the option of flying to
St. Thomas, you should consider the round trip taxi rides from the airport to the ferry dock and the cost of the round trip
tickets on the ferry. There are two (primary) ferry options that willl get you there. Consider taking Tortola Fast Ferry
if you want to travel direct from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas to Roadtown, Tortola. The boat is a large catamaran
and the (direct) trip will take about 45 minutes.

The other option is to take a traditional (slower)
ferry. There are a few different companies with service between St. Thomas and Tortola. They leave and arrive at different
points on both islands. Most of these ferries arrive at Soper's Hole (WEST END) on Tortola, but some have continuing service
to Roadtown. These ferries take about 45 minutes to get from St. Thomas to the West End. You can then take a taxi (on us)
to Roadtown. If you choose the continuing service to Roadtown add another 45 minutes on the ferry. Depending on where (or
if) you are staying in St. Thomas and Tortola, these ferries may be a good option. Click Here
for links to several ferry companies and their schedules.

Transfers If you let us know your arrival information we can arrange for a taxi to meet you and
bring you to the base. The rates for this would be approximately $24 for up to two people and then a further $10 person after
that. If you are going to a hotel there may be an increase in this price depending on the hotels location.
